It has never been more important, finding ways to protect the Great Lakes for future generations.

In 2017 the current U.S. administration proposed dramatic cuts to funding for our American friends on the Great Lakes.

That’s more industrial pollution in our shared drinking water. More algae blooms. More invasive species destroying local marine life.

Luckily the U.S. states most affected by this proposal seem to have dodged this particular bullet, but they face an uphill battle in the coming years, even under the current administration: whoever is in office, whatever party or platform, water surely matters, and yet always seems to take a distant back seat in politics and policy.

We can help.

The Great Lakes Trust endowment, managed by the Hamilton Community Foundation, was built, and thrives, entirely from grassroots efforts by fellow artists, academics, and adventurers like you!

Each year we provide funding for groups like Lake Ontario Waterkeeper and the Bay Area Restoration Council to fight for clean, safe, swimmable, drinkable, fishable water, for now and posterity.

A larger endowment means more awards to more worthy recipients, and larger grants for those projects. Please consider helping us find and support innovative and worthy projects to restore and sustain the Great Lakes.

Your donation to our endowment is tax deductible.

Help us help the Great Lakes.
